This is a building which dates back to the mid-19th century, overlooking the central Via Edouard Aubert, in the heart of the city of Aosta.
This street is named after antiquarian Edouard Aubert who lived around the middle of the 19th century for the first time in the capital of Valle d'Aosta.
In 1852 he published a pamphlet "Fifteen days to Aosta" and in 1860 published the book "La Valle d’Aosta", the work that has contributed to make know to the world the artistic beauties of Aosta whose international fame at that time was limited to mountain’s climbing community and the thermal tourism more than any other.
Edourd Aubert wrote a synthesis of the history of Valle d’Aosta, a historical and geographical profile, with hints of artistic interest, its monuments and cathedral’s treasures.
The success achieved earned the author Edouard Aubert honorary citizenship of Aosta and the naming of one of the main streets of the city.
